Discover the process of selling your FTX claim with this comprehensive step-by-step guide.
Verify Your FTX Claim
This quick guide is for anyone who was an active FTX account holder at the time of the collapse.
Step 1: Verify your claim status
This is essential as your claim is currently part of a very legal, and very public bankruptcy claim going on in the US Legal system right now. Any user account that had any balance is part of these legal proceedings as an unsecured creditor. Unlike those silicon valley investors who invested in FTX by way of an equity purchase, known as secured creditor - as a user of said platform, we are referred to as unsecured creditors who have no claim as to the value of FTX as an entity but we have a claim to the value held in our user accounts. Unsecured creditor claims are part of these bankruptcy proceedings and will be receiving some compensation for funds held in the account.
Go to https://claims.ftx.com/kroll-portal
Log in and if you haven't already, submit your KYC documents. This is to confirm that you are actually the account holder and to ensure that the claim is owned by a real person.
If you have not yet received your unique Customer Code from FTX’s claims agent, Kroll, please email FTXInfo@ra.kroll.com
Step 2: Review your account balances
This may seem trivial but if you were trying to send wire transfers that last week or so that FTX was 'operational' then its likely that your wire transfer did not go through. Some of the issues we have seen is where the funds were already withdrawn from the user account, but they never received the wire transfer.
Make sure you take a good look at the balances and contact Kroll if there are any discrepancies.
Step 3: File your claim
Even though the deadline has passed (September 29, 2023) the customer portal is still open, you can still submit your claim. These claims will be considered 'late' and can be disputed. If you are late filing your FTX Claim, still file it. Attach records showing transfers to FTX, and/or show that you did not receive the withdrawal transfer. The more information you can provide the better.
It's been over a year since FTX collapsed, you aren't alone and there are resources to help.
